Hiking Crete offers you a unique 6 days hiking around Crete. Our biggest wish is to show you a different side of Crete. We want to offer our visitors the great opportunity to get in touch with the unique and unknown Cretan nature. We will guide you in beautiful trails, gorges and villages where you will be able to admire the magnificent Cretan nature and feel the hospitality of Cretan people.
Airport Pick-Up
Pick you up from the airport transfer to your hotel. Meeting for organize our plan for the next day's.
We will pick you up at 7:30am and head to the East of the island. It will take around 1hr 20min to arrive at our destination: Monastiraki Village where we will start our hike. Surrounded by a beautiful forest with many apiaries, we travel through a well built path towards Thripti Village. After going uphill for almost two hours we will have a break. We then continue north of Thripti village where we end up to an old path named “Azoria” and finally to the Castle where we can enjoy a magnificent view. After we hike to Mesonas Gorge, a majestic and beautiful gorge, which then leads us to an ancient settlement Azoria. Finally, we will reach the ancient olive tree in Kavousi, which is estimated at being an awe-inspiring age of 3400 years old. After our hike, we will taste genuine local Cretan food and enjoy the beach. Approximate return time to your hotel will be around 6pm to 7pm.

Back to Airport
We transfer you back to Heraklion Airport.

Thripti is a village in the Lassithi prefecture, which is somewhat in a isolated. It is located south of the coastal village of Kavousi / Tholos beach and can be reached via the route Ierapetra (south) - Kato Chorio - Thripti.
The Lassithi Plateau (GR: Οροπέδιο Λασιθίου, Oropedio Lasithiou), is a high endorheic plateau, located in eastern Crete, Greece on the mountain range of Dikti at an average altitude of 840 m, and in a distance of around 55km from Heraklion and 50km from Agios Nikolaos. The plateau is elliptical in shape with an E-W axis of 11km and the N-S of 7km. The plateau of Lassithi is renowned for its exceptional agricultural produce, the thousands (almost 15000) windmills that used to be there in the past, its significant historical role and for the unique cave of Psychro also known as "Diktaion Andron".
